Melanie Seymour

Melanie has spent the majority of her career in corporate finance roles across multiple industries--telecommunications, media, energy, and EdTech. Throughout her career, she has developed expertise in financial planning and analysis, business case development, risk management, financial system implementations, and training. She was most recently a Finance Director at Discovery (now Warner Bros. Discovery) with global responsibility, and previously held positions with Black Entertainment Television, Électricité de France SA (EDF), Constellation Energy, and other industry-leading organizations.

In her role at the Institute for Entrepreneurial Leadership (IFEL), she works with founders and small business owners in providing resources for capital readiness, assisting them with financial projections and the alignment of numbers to strategy, assumptions, and operations. Melanie also cultivates connections for expanding capital access--from established sources, as well as investors with an interest in angel investing, via IFEL's Making of Black Angels program and the recently-acquired Pipeline Angels investing network. A finance professional by training, and always a coach at heart, she has developed a strong passion for encouraging individuals to expand their knowledge of early stage investing and building wealth through entrepreneurship
