Professional Bio

Garry Lyon is a program manager and ecosystem builder with eight years of experience designing and running the programs, partnerships, and community infrastructure that connect entrepreneurs, innovators, and leaders to the resources and networks they need to grow. He recently joined the InBIA team as a part-time Program Coordinator, bringing that experience to support the global community of entrepreneurship support organizations InBIA serves.

Most recently, Garry served as Program Manager at the Global Entrepreneurship Network, where he managed flagship initiatives including the Entrepreneurship World Cup — one of the world's largest startup competitions with 30,000+ annual applicants across 170+ countries — and Global Entrepreneurship Week, a global campaign reaching 10 million participants across 200 countries annually. He built and stewarded a global community of organizers across 130+ countries, managing partnerships and producing the funder reporting that sustained the program's impact year over year

Prior to GEN, Garry served as Director of Programs at American Underground, a Google for Startups Tech Hub in Durham, NC, where he led the Black Founders Exchange — a flagship acceleration program for Black-led founders that produced $5M raised and 100+ jobs created within a year, recognized by Google for Startups as the program's best year on record.

Garry is based in Charlotte, NC and is completing his MBA at Western Governors University. He brings a genuine belief that access to the right programs, people, and resources changes trajectories — and is excited to bring that conviction to the InBIA community.
