 Job Title: Director of Training 

Reports To: CEO & President Classification: Exempt

General Job Summary: 

The Director of Training will be accountable for the design, management and implementation of all aspects of InBIA’s training and educational programs, including all virtual and in-person courses, webinars and communities of practice. This position requires someone with experience in curriculum development and production experience, and a proven track record of developing and executing professional development programs for field practitioners, both online and in-person. The content focuses on managing entrepreneur support organizations (ESOs) and building healthy entrepreneurship ecosystems. 

Principal Responsibilities: 

  • Work with CEO and other staff to design a long-term professional development plan for InBIA based on member needs and industry trends,
  • Develop profitable business models for deploying InBIA training programs across all channels (events, online, customized, global projects, etc.) 
  • Support InBIA’s annual budgeting by providing financial forecasts for InBIA’s training programs 
  • Design and manage the implementation of InBIA’s professional development strategy, including the design of certificate programs, review and update of all courses to contain information about diverse and inclusive entrepreneur support, the leveraging of communities of practice as a way to transfer knowledge and resources, and identification of new course topics/approaches to support diverse and inclusive ESOs 
  • Assess current learning approaches InBIA employs, including the utilization of advanced technologies, and suggest changes as appropriate to better fit the audience 
  • Recruit and select best-in-class content experts and trainers to lead the content development and instructional deployment of InBIA courses 
  • Manage all InBIA curricula and related resources, and work in close collaboration with trainers and regional partners to ensure best-in-class educational and certificate programs are consistently deployed to InBIA members globally, virtually and in-person, synchronously and asynchronously. 
  • Work with the content developers, publishers and trainers to manage the design, development and revision control of all InBIA educational curricula 
  • Work closely with InBIA’s marketing consultant on marketing plans to maximize revenues on all InBIA training programs 
  • Collaborate with other InBIA staff to ensure consistent and comprehensive training/educational content is deployed at InBIA eventsDesign and implement a performance tracking and feedback/evaluation system for both learners and trainers

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design or equivalent experience 
  • At least three years experience in developing courses for adult learners in , traditional classroom, online, synchronous and asynchronous formats 
  • Ability to create and execute a results-oriented, plan for global training programs 
  • Proven experience in leading instructional design teams 
  • Experience deploying courses through learning management systems 
  • Experience in developing and leading communities of practice is preferred 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadline-driven tasks and projects 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to interact with customers, and partners and foster cross-functional teamwork
